Thanks to the support of local donors and state financing, ASPF granted scholarships to 75 single parents pursuing associate degrees, bachelor’s degrees and skilled trade certificates. Single parents were honored at a pricing ceremony on September 29 in St. Bernard’s Auditorium in Jonesboro.
Local ASPSF -Fruesty Lashea Robinson and her son, Cross with other volunteers outside the organization, helped with September 29. ASPSF would also like to thank St. Bernard’s auditorium for lenting the use of his place to the ceremony as well as local photographer Norm Dickson, who provided professional headshots to the recipients.

“I would like to thank a sincere thanks to the volunteers and donors in single parent finds,” said Shanona K., a Craighead County Arkansas State University student who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology. “As a single mother, it will always be my greatest desire to make ends meet and maintain a healthy environment for my child. This scholarship makes the school possible because I worry less about our daily needs. I am eternally grateful. “
ASPSF’s flexible scholarship of up to $ 1,600 helps single income parents pay for the greatest financial obstacles to a degree that leads to a career with the family’s supporting wages. The monetary help is paired with mentoring, financial teaching and career coaching-the soft skills training that transforms students into sought-after staff.
By 2024, the ASPSF Northeast region has awarded $ 206,400 in scholarships to 101 single parents who showed their children that higher education is within reach. This investment not only strengthens societies with viable economic impact, but also office whole families to imagine a brighter future.
