ASPSF Awards 97 Spring 2025 Scholarships to Single Parents in Northeast Arkansas – yllyon

Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF) congratulates the recipients of the spring of 2025 from the counties Clay, Craighead, Greene, Lawrence, Mississippi, Poinsett and Randolph in northeastern Arkansas.

Thanks to the support of local donors and state financing, ASPF fellow fellow allows a total of over $ 137,000 to 97 single parents pursuing associate degrees, bachelor’s degrees and skilled trade certificates. Single parents were honored at a prize ceremony in St. Bernard’s Auditorium in Jonesboro on March 9th.

Local ASPSF -Fruuntary Amelia Robinson, Audrey Lee, Kimber Boone, Jennifer Salo, Shana Pierce and Sherri Harp assisted at the event 9 March. Additional Guest Volunteers Included Coach CC Smith (The Academies at Jonesboro High School), Davida Brown, Heaven Ray (Academies of West Memphis High School), Kamaya Smith (Annie Camp Junior High), Keisha Coleman (Annie Camp Junior High), Keilen McCuiston (Annie Camp Junior High), Kevin Creekmore, Mikayla Cannon (Nettleton High School), Samuel Creekmore and Tyler Creekmore (Valley View High School).

ASPSF would like to thank St. Bernard’s auditorium for lenting the use of his place to the ceremony as well as Andy’s Frozen Custard of Jonesboro for donating vanilla sauce for an is Sundae Social at the event. A special thanks to Kelly Aaron from the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services for speaking at the event and providing information to the participants.

ASPSF’s flexible scholarship of up to $ 1,600 helps single income parents pay for the greatest financial obstacles to a degree that leads to a career with the family’s supporting wages. The monetary help is paired with mentoring, financial teaching and career coaching-the soft skills training that transforms students into sought-after staff.

“I am incredibly grateful for the support I received from single parent Scholarship Fund for the past few years,” said spring 2025, China McChristian from Mississippi County, who signed up for Arkansas State University. “This scholarship has relieved financial burdens and made it possible for me to focus on my education and my role as a parent. This scholarship has really made a difference in my life and I hope that one day I pay it to other recipients! Due to your support I receive my bachelor’s degree in social work in May!”

Destiny Hall and Rachel Jordan from Clay County were also awarded as well as Dru Wilson and Hannarh Carter from Lawrence County. Felicia Graves and Summers are breaking from Randolph County Also received a scholarship plus additional students from various counties not named by privacy.
