Brittany Crueis accepts his scholarship with his three children

Single mother Brittany Cruthis’ life is filled with the three things she loves most: her children, teaching and sports!

When she is not home with her three children, you will find her work as a paraprofessional at Clarendon High School, Coaching on a softball court or working the game on a basketball match. Recently, however, you will probably find her participating in an online class and studying hard to preserve her 4.0 GPA.

After 10 years of work in the field of education, Brittany Reach University signed up to earn a bachelor’s degree and become a licensed teacher. When she is examined in 2026, her goal is to remain at CHS as a special education teacher.

To recognize Brittany’s dedication to education, ASPF has appointed her students of the month in March 2024. To learn more about this incredible single mother who does it all, Aspf asked her a few questions. Here’s what she said!

What motivated you to sign up at school?
I decided to return to school to improve my family’s life. Plus, I enjoy what I do and feel like I’m good at it, so why not take it a step further? I will continue to make a difference in the lives of our future leaders.

What do you love most about teaching?
The kids that I work around make this job fun and worth the whole headache. They help me teach my kids at home. I am in this job for the good, the bad and the ugly, and I hope to learn from it all.

Share a little about your three children!
I have three beautiful kids. My oldest is now 11 and his name is Zane. He is my tender and nurturing soul. My daughter, Kimberly, is 9 and she is my strong heart kid with a little bit of Sass! My youngest is 2 and his name is Waylon. And boy let me tell you! The song “The blame on Waylon” is appropriate !! He is my carefree spirit and Energizer Bunny.

Since returning to school, have you noticed a positive influence on your children?
I noticed that my children are more valued by the things I do for them and will help me with so much more. They can make me crazy at times, but I think I raise some of the most respectful, friendly, caring and intelligent children there are. I am really proud to be their mother and there are no words to describe my love or admiration for my children.

What is your greatest achievement?
I am proud of myself to work full time, manage three children as a single parent, coach Softball for high school and a City League, help home -basket ball games by running the clock, making sure my children are at each practice and ballgame in their leisure activities, participate in my weekly classes and maintain all five classes while I keep a straight A and stay on the dean’s list without support from my years.

All this while I am still trying my best to be an active and supportive mother.

How has ASPSF helped you on your journey?
With my scholarship control, I paid a few tool bills, bought groceries and took my baby out to eat for his birthday. He requested Chinese food for his 11 -year birthday, so that’s what he got. I am also grateful for the kind words the staff and volunteers have expressed to me and how they check in with me. It’s more than my own family has done and it makes me happy to have such a thing in my life.

If you could personally thank an ASPSF donor, what would you say to them?
I would like to personally thank you for the financial and moral support that this fund has given me and my children. There are no words to express my gratitude effectively. It is a heartfelt contribution and I will be grateful forever. The opportunity has been a huge blessing.
